Our group was involved in research regarding the effect of energy modality on tissue identification from surgical smoke by differential ion mobility spectrometry in the latest issue of Microchemical Journal.

Turns out DMS-based tissue identification works not only with monopolar electrosurgery, but with ultrasonic instruments as well. For more details, you can find the open-access article here!
