The goal of the project is to modify microbes in ways that would allow them to transform the byproducts of agriculture and forestry into materials for plastic industry. Such materials include acrylic acid and adipic acid. The products made from these materials are a part of our everyday lives and the combined global market is almost twenty billion euros.
